Things will never be the same...

Terve Terve!

Some of you might remember or know the song from the Swedish band Roxette: Things will never be the same.
They sing about the loss of love - a wonderful song! And what they sing is true: without the one you loved, things really will never be the same!
But now I don't want to write about love in the way you probabelly mean I will :-)
The words "Things will never be the same" run through my mind last saturday when I went to watch a icehockey game of my beloved SCL Tigers
It was the first time since a long time that I drove to Langnau with my dad. When I was a little child we did that at least once a week and watched a game togehter. But during the last years we didn't manage to go together to watch a game :-(
Coming close to the parking lot I had to realise, that some things just stay the same! The same person who stood there about15 years ago, still was standing there !!! The stadium also looks the same and the same people are standing at the same places :-)
So things can ever be the same?

Done, Fertig, Finito, Fini !!

So, now my career at the FHNW is basically over. I finished yesterday with my diploma-paper and I'll give it in tomorrow or on Friday - it depends on my personal printer! This means that I'm on holiday now!! Cool :-)
But let's talk a bit about what happend in the last days:
Thursday, 23th of August Evelien and her mom came from Belgium for a visit! It was very nice to see my Belgium friend from Finland again! We had a cool time together, visiting Bern, the Cheese-Factory in Affoltern and having BBQ with some other friends of mine.
As I was invited for a wedding on the 25th Eve met Katja and visited the Eidgenössische Schwing und Älplerfest in Aarau. I beliefe that this was a wonderful experiance for her!

On Saturday I'll go for one week to Marocco and I'll climbe the highest mountain of North Africa :-) I'm looking very much forward to this trip! And after it, I'll perhaps make a roadtrip to visit first Delphine in France and later on Tura in Spain. But this trip is still under construction ;-)

Now I enjoy my holiday!

Air-Show and Badefahrt

Terve Terve

Last saturday there was an air show in Olten, my neighbour city. It was pretty cool when the jets flew so low, that they could almost land in our garden! Anyway: from the deck-chair in our garden I had a wonderful view on the impressive and loud jets - and took a picture for all of you ;-) it is the Breitling-Jet-Team in action!

After the exiting airshow over our garden I visitied with a good friend of mine the traditional Badefahrt. This huge party located in the whole city of Baden takes place every 10 years - so the last time it took place, I was a bit too young to go there... ;-)
But what did I learn there? Never think that there is no alcohol in a sex on the beach - there is definitely, but you feel it just so late! It was a very funny evening, remembering me very much of finnish nights... you would have loved it!
Unfortunately the day after was not as active as I wished...perhaps there was really a bit alcohol in the sex on the beach?!? So we preferred to go and watch active people playing beach volleyball :-) It was the championship of the Kanton of Aargau and some friends of mine played there. So we enjoyed the sunny weather with some nice people and a bit of beach-feeling.

Hope to read from some of you!

Parties, Work and Hyvää Syntymäpäivää Switzerland

Terve Terve

Again I'm talking to all of you through the world wide web :-)

Well, after writing the LAST exam at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland the Business Information Systems Class 3.5 organised a nice BBQ very close to the University. Some beers, Whiskey and other bottles were emptied pretty fast... Katja and myslef introduced our guys to the Suomi Culture and we gave them some Minttu; kiitos hyvää Katja!
After a very short night under the stars and a long cleaning-up period (kiitos David) one of the last class-activities was over. The next is perhaps on the 26th of October where we will get our Diploma.
Who thinks that after the cleaning-up all work was done is wrong! After the party the real work started: the Diploma-Paper! By the end of this month I'll have to hand it in... and I have my difficulties writing it - lack of motivation! But I try my best and hoping for all of you helping me doing it. Just drop in a nice, motivating note for me!
Few days after the BBQ my country Sveits had sysnymäpäivät! This is always celebrated with many many fireworks, BBQ at a nice place with some friends and some olutta (beer). I went with Michael to the lake of Murten where we met some friends, played frisbee, swam in the lake, had some beer and watched a wonderful firework!

Weather: it is raining a lot and we had a bit too much water arround here! The town where I went to University had few difficulties with water being in places, where it shouldn't be! The swimming pool here in Aarburg is closed for the rest of the season, because the nearby river had the impression that it had to fill the pool with river-water! So now: now swimming...

These where some highlights of my - at the moment a bit sad - life.
Looking forward to your comments!

Time has passed

Terve Terve

Time flew away!
One year ago I was thinking at this time of the year, what I should pack for going to Finland. Ok, I have to admit that I was thinking about this pretty early, because I flew to Finland at the end of August ;-)
Since my last post a lot happened and it would take me ages to write everything down. But few highlight should be shortly mentioned:
The first two weeks of April I spent in China with the InsightChina project of my University. The day I left Joensuu I got the e-mail that I was accepted for the project and that I could go for two weeks to China. The time there was really incredible and very fascinating! We visited the following cities: Beijing, Lanzou, Qingdao and Shanghai. Basically the whole trip was very good with one exeption: the stay in Shanghai. After having one of the best dinners I ever had in China, I got a food poisoning. I know the hotelroom pretty good now but for the rest of Shanghai - I can't say a lot, unfortunately! The flight back home was a torture because of my stomach... Back home everything was ok again (after few days).
After beeing in China I missed Michael so much, that I booked a flight to Berlin to see him. We had wonderful days in sunny Berlin. I enjoyed the city much more than I did when I was there in December. Perhaps because of the season? Everything was green and much more friendly. We even visited the famous ice bear Knut - that was really cute!
Then, few weeks later, at the end of June, my sister got married. The marriage was very nice and well organised :-) My sister was very very beautiful and I'm very happy for both of them. Let's see when their personal next highlight will come in form of a baby ;-)
Yea, and that's about it.... not too exiting, no trips to the polar circle or party weekends with lots of vodka. Exept for one which ended bad - very bad!
So now I'm still studying to finish my exams which will happen on the 25th of July. Then of course: Party!!!
On the 28th of July Michael will defenetly come back from Berlin and I'm looking very much forward to that! I start to miss him a bit over here, so it's time to come back home now!

Well... if someone of my Erasmus-Friends should still once in a while check this link I hope that you are happy to read some news about myself. I would be happy if you could drop a line so we can keep in touch! Especially Tura who seem to disapear, I can't reach her neigher via e-mail nor can I call her.. does anyone have some information about her?

Ok, it's time to go - hope to read from you!

February with spring temperatures...

Terve Terve

After beeing tired of writing a boring Erasmus-Report I decided to go for a nice walk in the sunshine with my friend Fatis. My way to her place took me though the forrest and what did I smell there? I smelled the wonderful spring-bringing smell of bear's garlic! I couldn't belive it! Usually one can start to smell this wonderful smell one month later because the forrest is till coverred with some snow or it is simply still a bit to cold for anything to grow...

I mentioned the boring Erasmus-Report: if someone out there has an interesting report about Finland in a political, economical, cultural or socials aspect, please forward it to me :-) I woudl reward this with some beers, vodka- or minttu-shots :-) All this here in my house in Switzerland! Free food and accomodation will also be offered! But: I need a useable report. After I got the report and I accept it, I will send the winner a invitation :-) I'm looking forwart to get wonderful reports (about 5-6 pages!).

Party Party - IQ: Mitä??

Terve Terve

Friends come back from Ireland - Welcome back Lilö!! - and the first partyweekend passed by too fast!
Friday was an adventurous evening in the El Harem. They invited for the Student Party - ok, let's go! Of course not everybody was a student in there - what I had to experiance! After chating with a guy who pretended to be a marketing manager of architecture (mitä??) and who doesn't have time for a second girlfriend (I was really relieved to hear that!) I asked myself, if it wouldn't be nice to control also the IQ of people going to a student party....
If you wish to know more about this "wonderful" encounter with the marketing manager of architecture, just contact me :-)
Saturady I first expaned my cultural horizon by visiting a turkish wedding-eve party. It was really very special, but also very nice and interesting! Thank you to my friend Fatis who took me there and explained me all the traditions I didn't understand!
After the wedding-eve party we went together to the Ü25 (over25-party) and danced till the early morning. It reminded me a lot of some people I met in Joensuu, especially when they started to play some lation-songs :-) I'm looking forward to party with all these people again soon!

Have a good monday
